Janey Lee Grace at Our Organic World

@2011-11-03

Janey Lee Grace with Barbara Cox and Steve Mills from NutrichefOur Organic World assembled a panel of highly respected and passionate experts to share their views on all things green, organic and non-toxic.

BBC Radio 2's Janey Lee Grace was joined by Barbara Cox from Nutrichef, Linda Anousta from Anousta Natural Skin Care Products and Dr John Milward, holistic health campaigner and author of 'The Treason Within'.

Janey set the scene commenting that we were incredibly lucky in this area of the country to be able to bring together such a fantastic collection of stallholders not to mention the experts on the panel.  She then went on to explain how she stepped onto the 'hamster wheel' that led her to believe that there is a 'natural alternative' to everything, and how she has made it her life's passion to source, seek, test and recommend the best natural eco and organic products and services in the market place.

"It all starts with one small change', Janey explained, 'I don't claim to be an expert, I've just learned alot and recommend other people's products.  I live by a couple of cliches:  when it comes to nutrition - 'you are what you eat' and when it comes to your health & beauty - 'what you put on your skin goes within.  In fact I'll go a bit further and say that you shouldn't put anything on your skin that you wouldn't eat!'  Obviously it goes alot wider than that but if you start there. So drink some cherry juice everyday and use virgin coconut oil on your skin."

"With 100,000 potentially toxic synthetic chemicals licensed for use in the UK its impossible for any of us to know what the real effects are going to be longer term.  How can anyone know the cumulative effects as we use multiple different products and are exposed to more and more toxins daily in what we eat, what we put on our skins, what we clean our homes with and what we breathe in and that's not to mention Electro Magnetic Frequencies!"

The rest of the panel took their lead from Janey and were spurred into stirring views on a wide range of topics raised by the audience.  Everything from cancer to vaccinations, air fresheners to lip salves and milk to food marketing.
